Continue ReadingHey, remember when former THQ president, Jason Rubin said that the next Saints Row should ditch the gags and become as serious as Red Dead Redemption and Skyrim? We do. We also remember thinking that without the humour Saints Row would be a load of old bum, and it seems new publisher Deep Silver thinks the same. Enter Saints Row 4 – out August 23rd – and a launch trailer that laughs in the face of seriousness.
Surprisingly, this fourth installment started life as a big-budget cut of DLC for Saints Row 3 called Enter The Dominatrix, but it’s been fleshed out to provide a brand-new game full of super powers, Tron-cycles and men in combat gear doing ‘the robot’. Take a look at this…
To our eyes it appears rather samey to Saints Row 3. We just hope there’s enough new stuff to warrant another splurge of cash. After all, with …
Continue ReadingThe PS Vita version of Everybody’s Golf is set to receive new golfers and courses on March 20th, according to a post on the European PlayStation Blog. Having already leapt from her own game into the beat ‘em-up world of PlayStation All-Stars, Gravity Rush’s Kat is set to tee off here too.
Here’s a list of what’s driving your way next week…
We’re not entirely sure how we missed this, but Irrational Games has announced their Season Pass details for Bioshock Infinite DLC. Is less ‘news’ and more ‘olds’ now, but in case you missed it there will be three add-on packs to arrive after the game launches on March 26th that will prolong your adventures in the clouds. The pass will cost £15.00 on PS3 or 1600MS on Xbox 360 and will save you around 30% on the price if you bought them separately. Obviously.
First out of the blocks will be the Early Bird. You get this…
Four pieces of exclusive gear, a Machine Gun Damage Upgrade, a Pistol Damage Upgrade, a gold skin for both weapons and five Infusion bottles that allow players to increase their health, their shield durability or their ability to use Vigors by increasing the quantity of Salts they can carry.
The rest will be announced in …
Continue ReadingTo coincide with the release of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, which is out today in Europe, the game’s developer, CI Games, has announced the tactical first-person shooter will be supported with some free post-launch DLC.
Included in the gratis expansion will be two new multiplayer maps – ‘Tower Defence’ and ‘Temple Crossing’ – and an all-new game mode to play. It sounds like this is the first DLC reveal of many, with CI Games promising that this add-on is “just the first step in our plan to support the Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 experience for our fans after launch.”
Here’s images of the two multiplayer maps:
The free DLC will arrive in the ‘upcoming weeks’ on Xbox Live and PSN –exact date to …
Continue ReadingThe sequentially staggered release of the Mega Man games on 3DS Virtual Console continues today with the arrival of Mega Man 3 on the Nintendo eShop.
It’s currently only confirmed to arrive on the US eShop, with no word of when it’ll appear for download in Europe. We contacted Nintendo to find out more and were told that it currently has “nothing to announce on this for Europe at the moment,” but would let us know if the situation changes. The previous release, Mega Man II, launched simultaneously in both the US and Europe, and we had hoped Mega Man 3 would follow suit, but clearly that’s not the case. We’ll keep you posted if we hear more.
In terms of price, US gamers can pick up Mega Man 3 for $4.99, while in Europe we’re anticipating the price to be £4.49 …
Continue ReadingWe’ve known about the two Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance DLC packs ‘Jetstream’ and ‘Blade Wolf’ for some time, and Konami has now announced that both of these story expansions will release sometime in April for PS3 and Xbox 360 (although in the US they’re PS3 exclusive, so Xbox gamers go without). The only confirmed price so far is $6.99.
If you’re looking for some Metal Gear Rising to keep you busy in the meantime, the VR Mission Expansion for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is already out on the EU PS Store, priced £1.99 or for completely free until 3 April in the US, and is also available on Xbox Live in Europe, priced 240MSP.…
Continue ReadingDragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is an upcoming piece of heavyweight DLC coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 which offers a reworked version of the original Dragon’s Dogma, as well as throwing a pile of new content into the deal. Before we get down to specifics, have a look at this trailer for the game, which focuses on the wizard, or sorcerer, or pointy hat magic stick person, or whatever you want to call them. Have a watch:
In addition to containing the original game in its entirety – which has undergone some fine-tuning based on player feedback – the new content in Dark Arisen includes a new underground realm, over 100 bits of new equipment, a new skill tier, over 25 new enemies, and an option for Japanese voice over.
Anyone who played Dragon’s Dogma the first time around will be able to transfer their save …
Continue ReadingFrom the looks of the launch trailer, where Wei Shen is busted back down to beat cop, you’ll be forgiven for thinking that Year of the Snake will start out handing out parking fines and settling disputes as a sort of Police Academy theme tune tinkles over the top. But this introduction is played out in a cutscene and is incredibly fleeting. Similarly, this episode of Sleeping Dogs is equally brief.
After disobeying orders from the top brass and blowing up half of Hong Kong, Wei is forced into walking the beat again. Cue brief cutscene and general grunts of disapproval from our hero. But you don’t play any of the mundane stuff. All of a sudden a mad cult – though, we’re yet to come across a sane one – leaps onto the scene and jabbers about the end of the world …
Continue ReadingUPDATE: Replaced the shaky-cam footage from the SXSW Interactive Festival with the just released official trailer from 2K Games.
Borderlands 2 developer Gearbox has teased new character DLC at the SXSW Interactive Festival, which is taking place this weekend in Austin, Texas. And it really is a tease, with no other additional info offered at present. So watch the vid and you’ll know as much as the rest of us:
So a new Vault Hunter’s joining the ranks sometime in the future and – judging by this teaser – it looks like whatever this ‘escaped experiment’ turns out to be, it’s going to be good at punching stuff real hard.
